Brussels waffle

Preparation time: 15 min.   Total time: 1h20

Ingredients (for approx. 10 waffles):

  • 250 g sifted flour 
  • 100 g melted butter 
  • 15 g fresh yeast 
  • 3 eggs 
  • 375 ml warm milk 
  • 1 tsp sugar

Preparation:

1. dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1/3 warm milk 

2. separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat until stiff

3. sift the flour into a bowl and add the rest of the warm milk. Beat well

4. Add the yolks, melted butter, milk and yeast to the mixture and stir until smooth and lump-free

5. Gently fold in the egg whites 

6. Leave to rise for 45 min, covered

7. Put in a buttered waffle iron for a few minutes until golden brown 

Tips:

Serve warm with brown sugar, melted chocolate, jam or fresh fruit
