Fattened beef pie

Ingredients (for 6 people) :

  • 500 g beef chuck
  • 450 g puff pastry
  • 500 g peeled tomatoes
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • salt and pepper
  • bouquet garni

Preparation:

In a sauté pan, sauté the onion cut into thin strips. Add the quartered, peeled tomatoes and crushed garlic. Season with salt and pepper and bouquet garni. Cook for 20 min, stirring, until a smooth paste forms.

Line a buttered mold with 300 g of puff pastry, leaving plenty of overhang. Cut the beef into cubes and line the bottom of the pastry.

Preheat oven to 220°C.

Add 1 beaten egg to the tomato paste, season with salt and pepper and pour over the meat. Cover with the remaining dough, seal the edges and brush with diluted egg yolk. Make a chimney.

Bake for 30 min.

Serve with a tomato coulis and a green salad.
