In Gumefens, in the rolling countryside of the canton of Fribourg, a family grows much more than vegetables. They're growing a way of life, a vision of agriculture, and above all... a deep connection with nature. Welcome to Jardins de Bellevue, a place where vegetable growing becomes a manifesto.
👩🌾 A farm, a family, a philosophy
Behind Les Jardins de Bellevue is Eryzal and his family. A multicultural family, deeply attached to the idea of living in harmony with their environment. They didn't go into farming just to be “like everyone else”. They saw it as a meaningful path, a way of contributing to a world that is more alive, more just and more rooted.
🌱 Bio-intensive, local and committed farming
Their method? Bio-intensive farming on a small area, inspired by permaculture and market gardening on living soil. No tractors here: everything is designed to respect the land, save resources, and encourage biodiversity.
🌼Crop rotation, 🌾 plant associations, 🐝 refuge for pollinators... Les Jardins de Bellevue is an ecosystem in its own right.
And their produce? They speak for themselves: fresh, seasonal vegetables, full of flavour - in self-service at Gumefens.
🌍 A mission much bigger than production
For Eryzal and his family, the land is a school, and they willingly share their knowledge. Through discussions with their customers, they seek to reconnect people with their food, with seasonality and with simplicity.
Their farm becomes a place of transmission, inspiration and dialogue. And it's also what attracts curious onlookers, neighbours and children every week - all keen to discover a different relationship with nature.
